Renault has long been recognized for bringing stylish yet practical SUVs to Indian roads. The Renault Duster, first introduced in 2012, quickly became a household name, credited with kickstarting the compact SUV trend in India. Known for its rugged appeal, spacious interiors, and affordability, the Duster carved a niche among urban families and adventure seekers alike. Now, the New Renault Duster 2025 promises to revive that legacy with modern upgrades and a bold new look

Design & Features

The Renault Duster design has undergone a significant transformation. Based on the CMF-B platform, the SUV now looks sharper and more premium than ever. Key highlights include:

  • Exterior styling: A wider grille, Y-shaped LED DRLs, LED headlamps, and V-shaped tail lamps give it a futuristic edge.

  • Interior features: A 10.1-inch floating infotainment system, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and premium upholstery enhance cabin appeal.

  • Technology upgrades: Wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are expected.

  • Safety highlights: Multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and hill-start assist will strengthen its safety profile.

Performance

Marking a departure from the diesel-powered Dusters of the past, the new model will be petrol-only. Renault could introduce a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine developed jointly with Nissan that will likely be available in two states of tune: 130 BHP/240 Nm and 150 BHP/250 Nm.

The new-gen Duster will be offered with multiple powertrain options globally, some of which could make their way to India: a full-hybrid setup with 140 hp capable of driving mostly in EV mode in city conditions, a mild-hybrid engine producing 130 hp with manual gearbox and 4×4 option, and a bi-fuel variant (petrol plus LPG) that delivers up to 30 percent better efficiency.

Safety

Safety takes center stage in the new Duster. In India, the Renault Duster is expected to be offered with safety features like 6 airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and advanced driver assistance systems.

The ADAS suite is expected to include features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition with speeding alert, and rear parking assist. These technology upgrades position the Duster competitively against premium rivals in the segment.

Launch Date & Price

The Renault Duster launch date in India is officially set for January 26, 2026, with sales expected to begin by March 2026. The Renault Duster price in India is expected to start at ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom), going up to ₹20 lakh for higher trims. Anticipated variants include RXE, RXT, and RXZ, each offering manual and automatic transmission options.

Following the five-seater model, Renault plans to introduce a seven-seater variant, potentially named Bigster or Grand Duster, catering to families requiring additional seating capacity. Renault’s alliance partner Nissan will also have its own version of the Duster, which will have cosmetic differences and Nissan styling cues to maintain its unique brand identity.
