Indian smartphone maker Lava has confirmed the launch of its most premium device yet, the Lava Agni 4, scheduled for November 20, 2025, in India. The company has revealed nearly complete specifications ahead of the official unveiling, positioning the device as a direct challenger to mid-range offerings from global brands.
Design and Build Quality
The Lava Agni 4 features an aluminium alloy metal frame paired with a matte AG glass back, available in Lunar Mist and Phantom Black finishes. The device carries IP64 certification for dust and splash resistance, with Corning Gorilla Glass protecting the display and a reinforced glass back.
A horizontal pill-shaped camera module houses dual rear cameras with LED lights around the sensors, accompanied by a customizable Action Key on the right side. Lava claims the metal frame construction typically appears on devices priced above Rs 50,000, marking a significant materials upgrade for the brand.
Display and Performance
The smartphone sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 2,400 nits local peak brightness with HDR10 support. The screen features 1.15mm equal-sized bezels and includes an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood sits the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor paired with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. A vapour chamber cooling module handles thermal management during intensive tasks.
Reports indicate the Lava Agni 4 will pack a 7,000mAh battery, the largest ever on a Lava smartphone, with likely support for 66W fast charging. This represents a significant upgrade from the Agni 3’s 5,000mAh capacity.
Camera
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP OIS dual camera, both capable of 4K 60fps video recording. The front houses a 50MP selfie camera. Lava has integrated AI-based scene recognition, light optimization, and Dual Conversion Gain technology to enhance image processing.
Software and Features
The device ships with a bloatware-free Android OS and promises three years of OS upgrades plus four years of security patches. Lava markets this as its first “AI-first” smartphone, featuring Android 15 out of the box.
Additional features include dual stereo speakers, x-axis linear vibration motor, 4300mm² VC liquid cooling system, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an IR blaster. The device supports 14 5G bands and includes a customizable Action Key with over 100 shortcut combinations.
Pricing and Availability
While official pricing remains unconfirmed, the Lava Agni 4 is expected to launch between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 in India. For reference, the predecessor Agni 3 launched at Rs 20,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant.
The phone will be available through Amazon.in following its November 20 launch at 12 noon IST. Notably, the Agni 4 will become the first Lava smartphone to launch outside India, with a UK release scheduled for Q1 2026.
