Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the e Vitara will be launched on December 2, 2025, ending months of speculation. The electric SUV is expected to be priced between ₹20 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it directly against the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.

Production is already underway at the company’s Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. Since August 2025, Maruti has exported more than 2,900 units to markets such as the UK, Germany, Norway, and France.

Battery & Driving Range

The e Vitara will offer buyers flexibility with two battery pack options:

  • 49 kWh Battery (FWD): This variant delivers 144 hp and offers a driving range of 344 km, making it ideal for city commuters.
  • 61 kWh Battery (FWD): The more powerful version produces 174 hp with an impressive range of 428 km. For the Indian market, the top model with the 61 kWh battery is expected to deliver over 500 km based on ARAI testing.

An all-wheel-drive variant with dual motors is also planned for later introduction, producing 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque with a range of 394 km.

The 61 kWh battery pack can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 50 minutes when connected to a 70 kW DC fast charger. The automaker plans to install charging infrastructure at its dealerships and workshops, giving buyers added confidence in going electric.
